This is an interesting experience - trying to describe myself to an unseen audience. How do I convey my wit, my intelligence and my charm to you, the reader, when we have never met? Hmmmmm. I'm not sure. But here goes.

I grew up in a small town in New Brunswick, Canada. After high school, I attended College Militaire Royale in St. Jean, Quebec and Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, graduating with a degree in Engineering and Management. I served in the Canadian Forces as a Communications and Electronics Engineer (or Signals Officer as we call them in the Army). I resigned from the Forces in 1989 to return to university to study politics and economics.

Over the past 15 years I have worked in sales, consulting, speaking and training, and for five years my wife and I operated a Subway Franchise in Hamilton, Ontario. I am currently pursuing my dream by founding and building DreamCrafters.

I have been active in various volunteer organizations including Toastmasters and my church where I served on the Board of Directors and as a prayer chaplain.

I am happily married to Margaret, a wonderful and amazing woman (and no, she did not pay me to say that). We have no children and Suzie, our beloved tabby cat, made her transition several years ago at the ripe old age of 16.

Finally, to give you a bit more of a sense of the person behind these words, I asked 20 people who know me fairly well to come up with five words, phrases or adjectives that they would use to describe me. Some of the answers cannot be printed here, but the five most common replies were: compassionate/thoughtful, detailed/thorough, spiritual, honest/trustworthy, and humourous.
